Welcome to the first full month of spring to all our valued Branch 91, Langford Legion members! No doubt, we are all looking forward to warmer and sunnier weather after the very damp March that just passed!
The Legion continues to be very busy with all its regular weekly activities along with the many special events that take place in our auditorium. On that note, it can become quite congested in the games room on occasion, so I would ask that whether you are playing pool or darts, that you respect each other’s activities and space. That would be very much appreciated by all the guests and staff in the games room and the lounge. Also, this is a reminder that children are not allowed near the pool tables or dartboards without adult supervision. It should also be noted the legion will be hosting a very large dart tournament from April 25th to the 27th and some temporary changes will be made to the lounge to accommodate the participants and guests for the event.
Every year, the spring months are very busy with league play ending and many year-end events are scheduled both at the legion and elsewhere. We have several breakfast events scheduled at Westshore schools so if you can help with these, please contact the Branch. Also, on the May long weekend, once again, we have our booth at the Luxton Fair for four days and as always, we are looking for volunteer support to make it a success.
The need for volunteers is a recurring theme but our membership has grown dramatically since re-opening. Again, if you have some free time and would like to help us, please contact the branch. Any assistance you could provide is greatly appreciated.
As mentioned, the spring months are very busy but please try to support the branch during the summer, as the branch does slow down with members enjoying other summer activities.
In closing, I do want to thank all the sports teams for supporting the branch during the past few months. It is very much appreciated as it means a great deal to the long-term success of our branch. On behalf of your Executive, thank you to all our members who continue to enjoy all the services that our Branch 91 offers.
