Welcome to another new month. It is remarkable that half the summer has passed us by already. While we have had some rain recently, it appears that there are many days of summer weather ahead so please be careful when you are outside. Before we know it, it will be October again and we will be wishing for these longer, warmer days.
While your Branch 91 continues to be reasonably busy, member visits have slowed, which is fairly typical for this time of year. As always your visits for either a meal or just a beverage are greatly appreciated and mean so much to the branch’s bottom line. Plus, we love to see you!
Early bird renewals are also available in September for your 2025 memberships. There will be a free draws at each general meeting in the fall commencing in September for a free membership, so please keep that in mind and pay for your membership early for a chance to win.
Smoking continues to be an issue so please adhere to the rules set by the Capital Regional District. Smoking in NOT allowed within seven meters of the entrance and there are receptacles at both the front and rear entrances so please use them if you choose to smoke. Our next step is to ban smoking entirely from the property if the rules are not followed.
We also have a number of events on the calendar including a hypnotist and a Credence Clearwater Revival (CCR) tribute band scheduled. Please check the branch website or contact the office for more information.
I also want to thank Gerry and Pat Brennan for their efforts to have photos returned to the walls of the branch.
In closing, as noted, there are many summer days ahead so please come to the branch and if you are on the patio, please let the bartender know. On behalf of your executive thanks again for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the coming days!
