Season’s Greetings to all our Langford Legion members. It is hard to believe that we have turned the page to the last month of 2024.
Our Langford Legion has had a very busy and successful year, with all our regular events in the lounge and games room and so many activities in our auditorium. We are very pleased as we close out the year.
December is always a very busy time with so many special events celebrating the holiday season and this one is no different. As you know the success of our branch depends greatly on our volunteers. This continues to be a challenge as we do require more assistance, both in the kitchen, serving and dishwashing and setting up the auditorium. We have mentioned this on numerous occasions in the past that if you have any free time to dedicate to the branch, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly or call the office. I do want to sincerely thank the volunteers who show up and work so hard on a regular basis.
In November we held our Annual General Meeting and I would like to thank the executive for their ongoing efforts to make the branch so successful. I also want to thank our staff for their hard work each day to make the branch so receptive to our members and guests.
Our poppy fund drive was also very successful as we were very close to reaching our target of $100,000. Again I would like to thank all of the volunteers who made the campaign such a success.
As we look forward to the New Year, we fully anticipate that it will continue to be a very busy one. We do look forward to continue to provide assistance to the many Westshore community groups and services that we have assisted in the past. This can only occur with your ongoing support to the branch, whether it is becoming a volunteer, coming for a meal or even a beverage. It all helps to help make the branch successful. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you would pay your 2025 memberships if you have not done so.
In closing, on behalf of the executive I want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy 2025.
