As we turn the page of the calendar to March, we hope that the cold weather has concluded for this season. I am sure all our members are looking forward to sunnier and warmer days ahead. On that note, I would like to remind everyone that on Sunday, March 9th, we turn our clocks ahead one hour to go back to daylight savings time. The additional hour of daylight in the evenings is likely to be appreciated by many members.
As many of you know, February was another extremely busy month for our Langford Legion. Our regular weekly events including the Saturday meat draw, the Saturday night music bingo and our Friday fish and chip nights are very popular. There are also daily specials each night for dinner too and they are also receiving accolades from so many that come to the branch to enjoy a meal.
For the Valentine’s weekend, we had a very successful two-night event with the Eagle Eyes Tribute Band with a steak and lobster dinner. Both Friday and Saturday evenings were sold out and everyone who attended had a great time.
As I have stated in the past, our executive cannot thank our dedicated volunteers enough as events like the Valentine’s weekend dances would be impossible to stage without the support of our volunteers. We continue to be extremely busy during the upcoming spring months so please refer to the calendar or check our website for more details. A testament to how busy the branch is, is the fact that our auditorium is booked throughout the whole year.
Also, as I have mentioned in the past, if you have some free time and would like to help your branch by volunteering in the kitchen or setting up for events, please do not hesitate to contact the branch as we continue to need assistance.
To all our valued members, I hope you have great month, and we look forward to seeing you at the branch!
